Biography:

Singer/songwriter/multi instrumentalist NYMPHYA is a Cinematic Art Pop artist who creates modern music for the ancient and mystical in you.

Her alchemical Art / Alt-Pop music is a collage of eclectic beats, soaring vocals, haunting soundscapes, and captivating samples mixed with acoustic and electric instruments; “more of an immersion than a listening session” wrote one of her fans.  Named after the Greek nature spirits, NYMPHYA’S lyrics and themes are directly inspired by Nature and the Mystical. Transpersonal and unusual, her music transports the listener to mystical lands or a places of deep reflection.

Prior to launching NYMPHYA, Valentina appeared throughout the United States as an opera singer (NYCO and SF Opera), actor (Magic Theater), performer and musician, guesting on numerous soundtracks for television, film and commercials (Time/Life Warner, IMAX, and Garfield), on multiple CD projects for recording artists,(Sky Cafe and Royal Fingerbowl) backing up John Cale (The Velvet Underground) on the Tonight Show, appearing on MTV with her group Screaming Divas, and opening for Todd Rundgren at the Fillmore in San Francisco, for George Benson at Villa Montalvo, and Dana Carvey at the Shoreline Ampitheatre.

NYMPHYA has released three albums: Her all original debut, DREAM DANCE, in December 2017, her all-acoustic anthology of Kate Bush cover songs, NAKED KATE, in December 2019, and her fan selected set of 6 songs in a sampler EP called CURIOS in 2021. She has built a global audience through selling her music through online channels, which supports her efforts as an Indie recording artist.

She recently successfully crowdfunded her current album in progress and companion illustrated book WHAT HAVE I FORGOTTEN? scheduled for release in 2023, and resides near the sea and the redwoods along the craggy Northern California coast.

NYMPHYA’S live show consists of a set of selections from all her albums: the acoustic guitar-driven Kate Bush material surrounded by the electronic-based Folktronica of DREAM DANCE, CURIOS, and WHAT HAVE I FORGOTTEN?

Fans say:

Yay !! my Highly loved signed CD has arrived last night !! Awesome, Inspirational, Original, Emotional……..yes I cried in the middle of it . . . The best female artist in over 30 years. . . you are as unique now as Kate Bush was back in the 70s !! Your music is other worldly… It takes the listener on a fantastic journey through the mists of time. ” T. A. – United States

The music is fantastic. Every track on the album is excellent individually, and it easily bears comparison to more well known artists such as Kate Bush, Bjork, Tori Amos. In my view your album deserves to sell in the millions.” M. T. – United Kingdom

I have reviewed my previous top ten all time CD list and find that “Dream Dance” makes the cut! A sense of fearless transience flows through the whole thing end to end: lilting harmonies, multi-layered electronic drifting . .  .but above and beyond all that is your voice. It is so pleasant to hear a really well-trained lyricism project so effortlessly above such universal concepts.” J.L. – United States

My last CD was Kate Bush Before the Dawn and with this one the collection continues in the same spirit of music.  It’s stunning! There are very few albums I have played and on 1st play fell in love with it. The artwork is wonderful and it’s so imaginative. Even the frogs were against the window listening ha. Very difficult to find a favourate track, but Wasteland is special. What hits me too is the amount of instruments you hear, and they feel that they’re in the room. I have a 90s Technics system with big speakers and it flows out into the room. You should feel very proud of this stunning masterpiece“. J.D. – United Kingdom
